and also is your videocard using dx9 to render gw?
I'm drying to run a couple of the already published mods, specifically the cartography ones, and the 50%-80% hp mods.

What do you mean by admin privileges?

My video card is using the latest version of DX, which I blieve is now 10? I only recently upgraded it, until 2 days ago I was using 9 and it still didn't work...

To the others, no, I am not using GWMI.

Well if you are using DX10 you are running vista, no problems there, i can you should. by admin privileges if as guessed you are running vista... are permissions set by the OS, in this case vista, to run non ms apps. (yes paranoid vista, bad vista bad vista...*hits it with a rolled paper*)

Be sure to right click on texmod and set on properties: run this prog as admin, and set compatibility to xp sp2 accept and do the same to guildwars.

try skinning something by yourself, like an armor hue etc. and see if it loads.

Gaile asks about some of the details.

Then theres a screen of a guy getting banned for the rapid log in and outs.

Then theres a screen of gaile in game saying something about not actively banning, but it is STILL a 3rd party program.

The thread was directed at Anet, as it stated in the title.

So ill ask the good people here, does anyone else, or gaile, or anyone from ANET KNOW FOR SURE if its bannable.

And even if it isnt, theres still the issue of multiple login / out setting off the auto perma ban.... any confirmation on that?

You mean, the part when an ANet representitive gave the OK on GWW (the official conduit of dev-player communications) doesn't count as official confirmation?

This has nothing to do with modding.

That was when modding first started. I don't think anyone's been banned recently.

Well, the GWW talk page with the anet employee statement was what started the whole thread initially anyway so thats before any of this, and the alleged bans were AFTER that.

Im not trying to be a pita here.. i just dont want to get banned also, is that so bad?

I cant stay away from modding.... im sure you know how that feels

ill say this as slowly as possible

YOU...WILL...NOT...GET...BANNED

there has been ONE (read it ONE) ban about modding, and it turned out that it wasnt even about modding!

take a leap of faith - live a little, I jumpe din head first way before anyone had an idea it was safe - when we were just bouncing rumors on the GWW page

have a go, have fun, if you get banned (which you wont) put up a ticket

Please go read this section of her talk page.

If that doesn't 100% assure you its alright and safe - then nothing else will.

Default Heroes of the World have arrived!

Say hello to:

(A.K.A - Flashy Title, crappy mod)

Bascially this is my attempt to Res up the world of GW in 4 parts:
- Heroes of the World: Nightfall
- Heroes of the World: Factions
- Heroes of the World: Prophecies
- Heroes of the World: Heros of the Guild

----------------------------------------------------------------------
This project involves running the various people of GW though brightening, colour tweaking, topazing and a selection of other effects to bring up much nicer looking people. Each of the heroes packages be completed in the following steps:

- All henchmen (And heroes in NF) will be improved
- All Plot NPC's (Shiro, Varesh, Glint and the like) will be improved
- All Recycled NPC's May be improved (Guards, commoners, nobles and the like) - Due to File sizes this may not happen -

Each pack will get step one before any gets step 2, and so on for step 3...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Now all thats been sorted I bring you: Nightfall!

The TPF for this can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?bjkbnvb8mzt

This pack includes:
Henchmen
Devona
Aidion
Gehraz
Sogolon
Kihm
Mhenlo
Cynn
Eve
Odurra
Timera
Abasi

Heroes - Armour lvl 1
Olias
Dunkoro
Zenmai
Tahlkora
Zhed
Margrid
Jin
Koss
Melonni
Morgahn
Norgu
Sousuke
Razah
Master of Wispers

Heroes - Armour lvl 2
Jin
Koss
Melonni
Souke
Master of Wispers
Tahlkora
Morgahn
Zenmai

Heroes - Armour lvl 3
None

---------------------------
As you can see im missing various heroes, this is mainly due to not having the armors for them (and never bothering with goren) - SO if anyone actually has any of these armors ont heir heros (especially the lvl 3 ones) please contact me on the IGN to the left
---------------------------

Comming Soon:
Heroes of Factions

I was debating whether or not to post this, but hey.

I've started up a website (http://www.guildwars-modding.net) specifically for the GW modding community. There's a forum there as well, I'm happy to set up a subforum for each different mod project/development too.

Just an update on my Dark Glass UI too, I've had a few computer troubles lately and school has taken up a lot of my time. Beta 5 should be out this afternoon and the final release should follow around Wednesday.

Why did running DX10 give you the impression I was using Vista? i'm not. Does that change your advice? I'm using XP Home...
